2022 NAPLAN results for Canterbury Girls’ Secondary College were outstanding. While there may be differing opinions regarding NAPLAN, they are one indication, in conjunction with other student data, about student achievement and provide one more tool for decisions regarding teaching and learning.
At Year 7, the mean for CGSC for Reading was 589 compared to the State mean of 540, for Writing the CGSC mean was 569 (State 511), the CGSC mean for Spelling was 579 (State 539), for Grammar and Punctuation the CGSC mean was 589 (State 535) and for Numeracy the CGSC mean was 597 (State 550).
At Year 9, the mean for CGSC for Reading was 615 compared to the State mean of 572, for Writing the CGSC mean was 613 (State 542), the CGSC mean for Spelling was 607 (State 572), for Grammar and Punctuation the CGSC mean was 610 (State 562) and for Numeracy the CGSC means was 617 (State 556).
At Year 7, the number of students performing above the National Minimum Standard were: 97% of students achieved above the national minimum standard in Reading, 96% in Writing, 97% in Spelling,97% in Grammar and Punctuation and 98% in Numeracy.
At Year 9, the number of students performing above the National Minimum Standard were: 94% of students achieved above the national minimum standard in Reading, 90% in Writing, 90% in Spelling, 91% in Grammar and Punctuation and 95% in Numeracy.
